Good Morning Sisters!
Last night was WONDERFUL!!! A very powerful night of teaching, praise, worship and fellowship! We were blessed to have a beautiful new lady with us last night. Elaine Jolley brought her friend Reba and she was such a gem. Her husband was in the oil business so she and her family have lived all over the world. They moved here a year ago from Azerbaijan, a country bordering the Caspian Sea. She has a daughter who is a Senior, in the IB program at Garner High. It’s such a blessing to meet so many different people with such rich and diverse backgrounds. For all of you who could not be with us we love you and covered you with an abundance of grace, love and prayer.
We started our night with prayer and devotions. This week’s study “All-Encompassing Shalom” was such a powerful one. The Lord really impressed on my heart the importance speaking what we want to see...thus the devotion I wrote this week entitled “Speak Right”. (sent out this morning via MailChimp). Grace and peace go together. Peace keeps what grace gives. In order for grace to flow in our lives we must be at peace and to be at peace we must align our words with God’s. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says “It is written: I believed; therefore I have spoken. Since we have the same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak.” This is how faith works. We believe and speak it! That’s ALL it takes. What holds back faith many times is that in our hearts we feel that believing ONLY is not enough. Moses thought the same thing. In the book of Exodus God commands Moses to speak to a rock promising to make water flow in the desert again. Moses strikes the rock instead of speaking to it. Because of this Moses was not permitted to bring the people into the Promised Land. God tells him in Numbers 20:12 “because you did not believe in me, you shall not bring the assembly I have given them.” He thought that speaking alone was not enough. He tried to take matters into his own hands by striking the rock. He tried to usurp God’s place. So we can see by this story that our FAITH is very important to God. He says that the only thing that pleases Him is our faith. It is the currency Heaven. It is the ONLY way we appropriate what grace has provided for us. You release your faith by speaking what you want to see. Speak what you believe and what you believe comes from your living contract with God. God never saw good until He spoke. Every morning when you wake up SAY…”I believe I am righteous in God’s eyes. I believe I am entitled to every blessing in Heaven because of the gift of righteousness. It has nothing to do with my performance. It has nothing with what I have accomplished less I should boast. It is a gift and I believe I am righteous because I receive the gift.” When we believe right we live right. When we believe right we love right. The key to helping yourself is believing right...looking to JESUS. God created the world with the words He spoke. You and I are created in His image. We are speaking spirits that live in a body that possess a soul. You and I create our world by the words we speak. Job 22:28 says “Decree a thing and it shall be established onto you.” Proverbs 18:22 says “the power of life and death are in your tongue.” Therefore SPEAK LIFE!
After establishing the importance of our words through the “Speak Right” Devotion we plunged into Chapter 10. Since this is such a rich chapter with so many revelational truths I am taking another week to teach. To prepare for next week I would like you to read the chapter again really taking time to meditate on it, asking God to speak to you. Psalm 1:2-3 tells us to meditate on His Word for a life of fruitfulness. As you meditate you are being filled with His spirit and He gives you clarity and wisdom for areas you are struggling in and for decisions you need to make. As you are spending time in His word He fills you with His perfect love which cast out ALL fear. Fear is one of the main tools of the enemy. Long before you’re sick you’re stressed. Long before you’re stressed you are fearful. It’s not up to you to get yourself out of fear. Only He has perfect love and He loves you perfectly.
We must make sure we are not making our husbands, our friends or any one person the source of our joy and happiness.Yes, you can love your man, you can love people but you must LOVE YOUR MAIN MAN which is JESUS. Make Jesus your source. Don’t draw from others the things that only Jesus can give.
Why are we experiencing more of His shalom? Because our hearts are troubled or afraid. Our hearts are the gateway of our spirit. All of the peace in our spirits will do us no good if our hearts are clogged with worries, cares and anxieties. We have to remove those cares by casting them to Jesus everyday. We played a game last night to illustrate this point. We took a ball which represented our “worries” and we threw it to one another (representing Jesus). Each time the devil whispers in your ear with a worry you throw it to Jesus as quickly as possible. You can’t hold onto it because it’s like poison. The moment a worrisome thought enters your mind CAST IT to the ONE who loves you perfectly. “Cast” means “to throw forcefully in a specified direction.
Don’t let the thought camp out in your mind. Don’t let it linger or it will eventually comes out of your mouth. Once you release the fear out of your mouth you give life to it. See how it works? The devil goes about seeking whom He may devour, which means he cannot devour just anyone. There are people he can devour and they are people he cannot devour. The disciple John was undevourable. What makes you devourable? When your mind is full of cares and worry the enemy can devour you. When you worry you invite the enemy in. Refuse to allow your heart to be troubled by casting your cares to the Lord. The enemy cannot touch you when you’re at peace.
Yesterday as we were leaving a Volleyball game my husband stepped into a bed of fire ants. He got in the car laughing. “Why are you laughing?” I asked. He looked down and said“I don’t have one sting. They couldn’t touch me... I am undevourable.” Now THAT is a man who knows who He is in Christ.
I have been meditating on Romans 16:20 this week that promises “The God of Peace will crush Satan under your feet.” Jesus is the Prince of Peace. I recommend each week you meditate and memorize a scripture. Having God’s word embedded in the rich soil of your heart is a key to living in peace and being undevourable to the enemy. Next week we will complete our study of Chapter 10.
Please mark your calendars for the following events:
Wed. Oct. 10th
Bill and Cathy Alsop will be here. Bill has been with us several times and is such a powerful man of God. He has been in ministry for over 35 years teaching about the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, spiritual warfare and the power of grace-grace. Bill has ministered in tent meetings, churches, conferences, and home groups throughout the years and we are so thankful and blessed to have he and his lovely wife Cathy with on Oct. 10th.
Fri. Oct. 26th “A Night of Celebration” to launch our website and celebrate ALL that Jesus is doing through this ministry. We also want to offer people an opportunity to lock arms with us as a Partner of Hope. Monthly financial partnership is important as it helps us to teach God’s truth, heal hearts and bring hope to broken lives.
Event will be held at a beautiful model home in North Ridge Country Club (compliments of Wendy & David Schenck) from 7-00-10:00. Event planners and coordinators: Wendy Schenck, Jen Ward and Tracey Margosian. Food and drinks will be provided. Wendy and Jen will send out evites and coordinate the planning of the event. Tracey is going to lead in getting video testimonies.
Who will be invited? Everyone in our email list plus any close friends you would like to introduce our ministry to. House can comfortably hold 50-60 people. If there is a close friend you would like to invite please contact Jen or Wendy.
I want to humbly THANK YOU for your love and support of this ministry. Each week the Lord takes us to new levels of intimacy with us revealing His great love for us. This week my prayer is that each of you would walk in His shalom peace by casting ALL of your cares and worries on Jesus. Remember the game we played last night. Each time the enemy throws you a care, you immediately throw it to Jesus. The God of Peace will crush Satan under your feet. Quote this portion from John 14:27 whenever you feel troubled…”Let not your heart be troubled.”
Let Go and Let God. God Bless You!
Enjoy your week!
Love,
Sherry :-)
