You Are A New Creation!

How do you see yourself? Do you see yourself the way the world sees you or the way God sees you?

God wants you to see yourself the way He sees YOU! In Isaiah 43:18-19 God tells us… “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 2 Corinthians 5:16 says…Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” God is telling us that we must BELIEVE that once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior that we are a new creation! We must not consider the flesh. Even though your body, experiences and emotions may tell you the opposite of God’s truth you must BELIEVE God’s word! Everything you can SEE around you is TEMPORAL meaning it is subject to change. Facts are temporal. Truth is eternal. Truth can only be found in Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul says he looks at the things you cannot see which are abundance, health, joy and peace. These are ETERNAL TRUTHS.

Let’s expand a little more on the importance of building your life on the right foundation. Your life is composed of a series of CHOICES. God gives us free will to choose how we will live our lives. You may choose to build your life in the camp of worldly FACTS or the camp of ETERNAL TRUTH. When faced with a crisis the camp you choose to stand in will determine your destiny. The world’s facts are based on your senses…on what you can see, touch, hear, taste and feel. The world says you must first SEE it in order to BELIEVE it. The world says if you can’t see it then it obviously doesn’t exist. If you have no money in your bank account the world says you are broke, if you have a disease in your body the world says you are sick. At this point you either choose to agree with the world or you choose to agree with God. You simply can’t live in both camps. You either believe Jesus has healed you and/or has financially delivered you or you don’t. Be warned my friend as soon as you decide to camp in the land of ETERNAL TRUTH Satan will start firing his darts of doubt and worry at you. The mental war begins! The bills are piling up and he tries to convince you, through your senses, that what God has promised will not happen for you. He wants to instill fear in you. He uses the doctor’s negative report to get you to move out of the camp of TRUTH into the camp of FACTS. Satan uses facts to deceive you. We erroneously see facts as evidence that we won’t get our deliverance. Remember, if you can SEE it it’s subject to change!  When you see the negative THIS is when you dig your heels in and focus on the TRUTH of God’s word. God’s word is eternal and NEVER changes! Be determined! Stand strong! Plant yourself firmly on the solid ground of God’s promises and remain there no matter what Satan throws at you! God will bring you over, above and beyond your circumstances! He took the disciples to the other side and he will take YOU to the other side! He just needs you to BELIEVE Him and not doubt Him. The #1 mistake people make when faced with is a crisis is focusing on their fact (problem) instead of focusing on the TRUTH.

The world is quick to establish what it can see as fact. Facts, as noted above, are temporal and are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Life, built on worldly facts, is a life built on quick sand. Look at our world today. It is built on a mountain of facts and is rapidly sinking into debt, corruption and immorality. Let’s face it, life on earth is short. Even if you live to be 100 years old what is that in the scope of eternity? God says that in Heaven one day is like a thousand years on earth. So to live our lives based on what we can see is not only naïve but very foolish. On the other hand, when we choose to build our lives on Jesus we are building on the solid ground of eternal truth.

The truth is in Jesus and He says that YOU are a new creation! You must put off the old thinking, experiences and behaviors by renewing the spirit of your mind. Start thinking…”I am a healthy creation. Old things have been passed away.” The “old man” is gone for the believer but the behavior is still there. How do you remove it?  Not by trying, struggling or willpower. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Start thinking, believing and seeing yourself as a new creation! Pastor Joseph Prince gives a great example of old thinking (wrong believing) in the analogy of an elephant. In the circus, when the elephant is a young baby the owners do not keep him caged like the other animals. They secure a small chain around his leg and tie him to a small metal stick in the ground. Every time he tries to break free it rubs against his leg and this pain reminds him not to struggle. As he grows bigger and bigger he will not break free because he “remembers”. The metal stick is still the same small size and he is now huge and has the power to break free but does not. This is how Satan sees YOU, but the bondage is not metal but mental. Satan has you in mental bondage. What if the elephant could hear the truth?  What if he could hear that he is strong and powerful? He would break free in a split second! So many people are living as this elephant today. They are in bondage to their old way of thinking.

How do you walk in this New Creation? Before Jesus manifests the power of who He is He always confesses “I AM.” At the tomb of Lazarus the very first thing Jesus did was say…” I am the resurrection and the life.” He didn’t say…”I hope I am the resurrection and the life…” You must be sure of WHO you are my friend! You must know that you are a new creation in Christ! Because Jesus said it Lazarus was resurrected! You must SAY it to order to SEE it! He said resurrection and then he saw it! We must put our faith in the eternal things and not the temporal things. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says…” While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. If you are in lack, it’s subject to change. If you are sick, it’s subject to change. If you don’t have a partner, it’s subject to change. If you can SEE it, it’s subject to change. Everything that you can see, feel and touch and hear was birthed from the spiritual realm. Science now calls it the “fourth dimension.” Isn’t it interesting that science eventually validates the word of God?  God cannot be seen. He is eternal. This is why it is SO important that we understand that we should not walk by sight, but by faith! Start saying…”I am a new creation in Christ. I am the righteousness of God in Christ!” Stop considering the things of old. God will make the days ahead you greater than all of your youth combined!

Jesus confesses (in John 9:5-7) that He is the light of the world BEFORE he healed the blind man. You will never SEE before you SAY because YOU are made in God’s image. God called forward what He wanted. What are you asking God for? Do you need physical healing? Do you need financial deliverance? Do you need restoration in a broken marriage? Do you need deliverance from an addiction? Whatever your need is you start by speaking WHO you really are! Say… I am a new creation in Christ! The Holy Spirit prophesied to Isaiah 45:24-25, “Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. In the Lord shall all of the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.” If you confess you have righteousness and strength favor will surround you.  Your enemies will be put to shame. Jesus would not let what He SAW with His eyes move Him because he knew that what can be seen is TEMPORAL. He knew that everything He saw was subject to change. What are you focused on? Are you focused on your problem? Are you looking at the lack in your life? Are you focused on your sickness? Take the focus off of your problem and put your focus on Christ! When the bills keep piling up on your desk declare WHO you really are! Don’t allow the negative thoughts to stay in your mind. Learn to immediately replace the negative thought with the truth of God’s word.

We are living in the age of GRACE my friend. God is pouring out His grace on this earth like no other time in history. We are a special generation living in a special time. God is good! God is faithful!  Get your head in alignment with His word! You are a new creation in Christ! You can do what He says you can do and you can have what He says you can have! Your future is bright my friend! Jesus loves you!
