Wings

Sometimes it takes the worst things done to us to bring out the best in us.
In New Zealand 40% of the birds are flightless. 40% can’t fly as they have little stubs for wings. Why? Because there are no predators on that island...NONE! No snakes, no wolves, no predators! It’s the opposition that develops the wings. If you don’t have opposition you don’t develop your wings. You have a decision to make. You can be a chicken in the barnyard for the rest of your life or you can mount up with wings as eagles (Isaiah 40:31) but you won’t do it without opposition, you won’t do it without offense, you won’t do it without attacks. The only way an airplane goes up is to fly against the wind. It takes the opposition to give it the lift. And the same is true when God’s hand is on you. In order for God to use you greatly, in order for your wings to grow you will have to face some opposition in life. It is the opposition that God uses as a step stool to lift you up and bring you to places you otherwise could never have gone. Those who go through the fire get stronger. If David had fought a man of normal stature no one would have heard of him. It was the fact that he had a gigantic problem coming against him that God used to raise him and give him his wings. When life goes from bad to unbearable good things are about to happen because THAT is when we turn back to God. It is through the trial, through the furnace that we get our wings back. The problem is your promotion if you’ll let it.
Job lost it all in one day. He lost everything he had in one day. In a 24 hour period he experienced bankruptcy, bereavement, boils and betrayal. For seven days four of his friends sat around him in a circle not saying one word to him, looking at him in disgust. (Job 2:13) When they finally opened their mouths they spewed judgment. One said he was a hypocrite, one said it was the judgment of God, another accused him of having secret sin in his life and all of the things were his fault. He believed God was getting him back. When did Job get restored? Job had a choice. He could have been bitter, angry, hurt, wounded but he said in Job 42:10 “I’m going to pray for my friends.” THIS is when he turned his captivity and gave him DOUBLE for his trouble all because he decided to love like he’d never been hurt.
God uses broken vessels as His glory shines the brightest through them. His strength is made manifest in your weakness. You should never be ashamed of your weaknesses as grace only flows through weakness. With God the restoration is always greater than the loss. He takes our pain and turns it into our promotion. He takes our adversity and turns it into opportunity. He can only use people who don’t get so full of themselves that they get arrogant and prideful. He doesn’t cause bad things to happen to us but He does allow us to go through seasons. He is the God of the mountain and the God of the valley. Billy Graham said...“It’s God job to judge, it’s the Holy Spirit’s job to convict, and it’s my job to love.” Love that son, love that daughter, love that person that has hurt you, love that person that has fallen. LOVE like you’ve never been hurt as LOVE ALWAYS WINS. it might take some time but love will never fail. Love is the greatest seed you can sow into a person’s life.
Keep loving my friend...keep loving.
God Bless You,
Love, Sherry :-)
