Peace & Guidance

I’ve known Sherry since my sophomore year in high school, I’m almost 23 now. She is someone I still call when I need guidance or a push in the right direction, and she will always lead me to the bible. I can remember feeling an instant connection the first time I met Sherry. I always felt we were very similar, I related to her, and her past in many ways. Like me she was familiar with pain, and the type of hurt that leaves you feeling crippled. She always saw something in me from a young age, a promising future, she saw light in me when all I could feel was darkness. Talking to her is easy. Her bible study has been a constant place of peace and guidance for many years. In a world full of negativity and lies, it’s is refreshing to hear positivity and truth from a trusted source.

From a young age I was no stranger to hardship, I lost my father when I was a freshman, someone i longed to know at times, I was diagnosed with a blood cancer (Hodgkins Lymphoma my junior year of high school) there’s been many occasions when my only choice has been to lean on gods word and what the Bible says about me, the things the world had to offer were unfulfilling and still left me feeling empty. Yet, the word has the power to soften the waves waging war inside of me. Her ministry has always reminded me of this, and inspired me to continue to grow, learn, and not lose hope in the face of adversity.
