Choices

You have a choice. I have a choice. We all have choices.
Throughout our life we make choices…some are big, some are small…yet all are choices that determine the course and quality of our lives while on this earth. To the friends we choose, to the foods we eat, to the cars we drive, to the schools we attend, to the jobs we take, to the people we marry…we all face thousands, if not millions, of choices throughout our lifetime. Many of these choices are made with careful and deliberate consideration and many are made spur of the moment with little thought or effort. Yet the most critical choice we will ever make, the only choice that really matters at the end of our lives, the only choice that has eternal consequences…many people put no thought into. At the end of your life no one will care how many degrees you earned, what school you went to, how big your house was, how nice your car was, how much money you had in the bank, how many accolades you attained, how many people you impressed or how far you climbed up the corporate ladder. The moment you take your last breath, there will be only ONE decision out of all of the millions of decisions you made that will matter…one and only ONE.
No matter how many good choices you made or how many bad choices you made while on here on earth your life hereafter hinges on only ONE decision. Think about that…ONE CHOICE. Right now as you’re reading this you may thinking that you’ve messed up your life with a string of bad decisions and there is no hope for you. That would be wrong my friend! ONE decision has the power to erase, restore, replenish and renew every bad decision you ever made. There is great hope for YOU!
Adam, the first man God created, also had a choice. God created man to have someone to LOVE. God is a giver and He wanted to give His love to man, and in order to do this He must give man free will to either accept His love or reject it. Adam rejected it. He had a choice to make in the garden. He could disobey God and choose The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (death) or he could obey God and choose the Tree of Life (eternal life). As we know, Adam made the wrong choice and we can all see where that led us. However, God loved us so much that He gave us a plan to redeem us from our own poor choices. He sent His son to die in our place. He gave us the opportunity to choose the RIGHT way this time. You see, today in 2018, YOU and I are faced with the very same decision Adam was faced with over 6,000 years ago. However, we have a huge advantage over Adam. We are privy to information he was not. We know the consequences for making the wrong choice. Will we choose LIFE or will we choose DEATH?
When we choose life we choose to believe that God is good. We choose to believe that He loves us and wants the best for us. We choose to believe that He redeemed us from Adam’s wrong choice by sending His son to die for us. He did this so we could be free. Choosing life means we believe in His new covenant that He established with us in Hebrew 8:10-12. It means we choose to trust Him, rely on Him and obey Him. Unlike man, God is not trying to control us with a list of rules and regulations that are impossible to keep. If His goal was to control us He wouldn’t have given us free will. If He wanted robots He could have created them. He wants us to obey and rely on Him for our own good because, He knows the things that will lead us into trouble and the things that will lead us into prosperity.
When Adam made the poor choice to rebel against God and believe the lies of Satan he relinquished his dominion over the earth to Satan. God gave it back to man through the sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ. This is the truth that Satan has tried to kept hidden from man all of these years. He doesn’t want YOU to know that YOU have dominion over him...that YOU can live a life free of worry, frustration and guilt because God has defeated Him for YOU! All you have to do to claim your dominion is BELIEVE in Jesus’ finished work on the cross! That’s IT!!! He wants you to be able to come to him freely, with no self condemnation and guilt. The choice we have to make is not complicated. It’s simple. In fact…it’s a no brainer. Do we want to kick, scratch and fight our way through life or would we like to relax, enjoy our life and give the fight to Jesus?
Please take some time today and think about this very important choice. It is your and yours only to make. YOU are a beloved child of God and He has an eternity of great things He wants to shower you with.
God Bless You,
Love, Sherry :-)
