Change the Station

Do you need a change of atmosphere? Do you need to change the station? Is your mind being bombarded with negative thoughts?

Did you know that there is an invisible world that is alive with unseen spiritual activity, a battle between the forces of darkness and light?

This unseen war affects our daily life, the lives of those we care about, and even the very atmosphere of the city we live in. Did you know that you can take authority and dominion over the forces of darkness and shift the very atmosphere transforming it into an environment for the Kingdom of God to flourish? You can walk in the supernatural blessings and promises of God by learning how to USE the authority God has given you through the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in you.

Do you know what sonar is? Before sonar, big ships would plow into icebergs because 90% of the iceberg is under the water and they couldn't see them. So they would run into them and be destroyed. It's the same way with the supernatural world which is filled with all kinds of activity. All around us, there is an unseen invisible world that is alive that affects your thoughts, your health, your marriage and it’s radiating signals to you. There is a way to destroy these evil signals. We're constantly getting input into our minds from a lot of places...from ourselves, the Lord, and the demonic realm. All of God's signals and promises are YES and AMEN. The enemy's signals are negative, condemning and destructive. He is coming against the positive signals of God. You've got to turn off the station of the enemy. You're getting the wrong transmission. You must turn the channel. Contrary to the thinking of many Christians, demons aren't just hanging around you all the time; actually it's a relationship between what you believe they're telling you and you acting it out. Once the spirit of rage tells you to hit the person that has hurt you and you say yes to it and take a swing at them, the enemy can walk away because you have now released an atmosphere he doesn't have to stir up anymore.

What is the first step in overcoming these voices and having dominion over them?

The first step in having dominion over an oppressive spirit is to recognize it exist. You must believe that this invisible realm exists. You cannot overcome what you will not acknowledge. The Church has swung past the truth that we're in a spiritual war and has forgotten what's shooting at us. We have forgotten what God told us in Ephesians 6:12..."For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Then when our friend hurts our heart with her words, we're instantly offended, not realizing that our friend is listening to the wrong voice. It's much easier to resist offense and the temptation to lash out when we understand that she is not the enemy. She is being influenced by a dark spirit. The enemy knows what will hurt your heart and goes for the juggler.

Is there a way to discern what's going on in that invisible world from the atmosphere? You have to PRACTICE picking up or discerning the spiritual atmosphere around you. Start paying attention to what your normal is... what does that look like? Anything that comes out from that is actually helping you to know that you are picking up and responding to an atmosphere. All of us have entered places that were cold and uninviting...places that we felt the energy was negative and oppressive. You must practice. This is how you learn. You learn so much by hindsight... getting tricked by the enemy. Have you ever woke up feeling grumpy for no apparent reason? You can't always chalk it up to being hormonal ladies. Women aren't hormonal 365 days a year! Often this is a spirit of irritation you must cast out. The enemy is always throwing arrows and darts. The enemy can plant a thought in your mind that you don't feel well, and then you stand beside a person who coughs and you partner with the enemy's lie. He is trying to get you to take the bait. These thoughts defy the word of God. Ever had trouble sleeping? Psalm 127:2 says, "He gives His beloved rest." So when the enemy tries to plant a negative seed in your mind about not being able to sleep,  say, "I SEE YOU ENEMY.  I'M NOT GOING TO PARTNER WITH YOU. I SEND YOU BACK. My father gives His beloved rest.”

So many times Christians stick their heads in the sand, wondering what just kicked them in their rear. We must pay attention to the atmosphere around us. There are agendas, atmospheres that are talking to us all the time. Passivity does not help us. It makes us victims as opposed to victors.

What is a thin and thick atmosphere? A thin atmosphere is when you walk in a place and you feel the Holy Spirit, you feel the presence of God. It can happen in different places within the same building. A thick atmosphere is one in which you cannot feel the presence of the Holy Spirit... the atmosphere feels oppressed, heavy, and it's hard to hear God.

What do you do when you walk into a place that has a thick, oppressive atmosphere? Speaking in tongues is the most effective strategy here as it disengages your mind and engages your spirit. (1 Corinthians 14:2-4). You can do it under your breath or out loud. You want to fight the right fight here... fight in the spirit realm and not in your brain realm. As you speak in the spirit, you are releasing the Holy Spirit into the atmosphere. You begin to release the opposite of what you think you're feeling. If you're feeling fear, you begin releasing peace, an attitude of rest instead of an attitude of fear. There is a weapon that you can use against the enemy that works every time. That weapon is called "Reject and Replace." You reject the negative signal that are coming against you... you have authority over the negative station that you are listening to and you can change that station. You can hear three voices in your head at anytime. There is Father God talking to you, the enemy is talking to you and you are talking to you. You decide whose voice you want to listen to.  Again SAY out loud..."I SEE YOU ENEMY.  I'M NOT GOING TO PARTNER WITH YOU. I SEND YOU BACK."

How do you discern atmospheres? Did you know suicide is a spirit that creates an atmosphere of death? Street pastor Dawna De Silva went into a region where there were a lot of suicides happening... suicide pacts were prevalent. She was sent there to stop it. At her conference, she had her son playing piano music (anointed to break the spirit of suicide) in the background as she was speaking and praying. She had the people repent for any way they had partnered with death; for any thoughts or words they had spoken. She taught them that they had authority over the spirit of death (Luke 9:1) and they spoke LIFE into each person and over the region. As everyone began speaking life over the region the spirit broke and left!

People hear these voices everyday and don't realize that they are tuned into the wrong voice. Thinking that it’s themselves, they suffer in great torment. What we need to do is change the channel. Yes, we should be taking thoughts captive, but if the negative thoughts are coming at you like a bomb going off in your head, it's probably the enemy's broadcast you need to turn off.

How do you shift the atmospheres?  Start paying attention to how you feel; check yourself at the door before you enter a place. Do you feel good? Happy? When you walk through that door anything that tempts you to act differently is a broadcast you get to turn off.

Can every believer be walking as a transmitter for God? What do you do when you catch yourself transmitting something you shouldn't? Absolutely! Whether we realize it or not, we are walking transmitters; we are transmitting good or we are transmitting bad. When we partner with the enemy by agreeing with the negative thoughts and speaking them, we REPENT..."I apologize Lord that I partnered with that thought and let it master me. I'm so sorry I bit into that thought and spoke wrong. I REPENT and I SEND IT BACK!" God told Cain that sin is crouching at your door and that you must master it. You master it by taking authority over it and sending it back.

How do we have the right transmissions in our homes? An atmosphere of love and peace? Start by having a family meeting. Ask, "What do we want the transmission to be from our home?" You need a buy in from everyone. We don't want to be the spiritual mom that says "don't say this”, “don’t say that”  You want THEM to be the ones who say "don't say that." You want THEM to own it.  

My friend, this invisible world is REAL. There is an unseen war being raged all around you that is affecting every aspect of your life...your family, your health, and your relationships. This type of revelation knowledge was taught in the early Church but has not been taught in the modern Church as the enemy has worked hard to keep it out. He has worked overtime to deceive us as deception is His only tool. He understands all too well that once WE know our power and HOW to use it, he is toast. We have the authority and dominion over the forces of darkness to shift the atmospheres in which we live. In order to walk in the supernatural favor and blessings of God, we must USE the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us.
