Birthing The Impossible

Do you need the “impossible” to happen in your life right now?  Are you looking for a breakthrough in your health?  In your finances?  In a broken relationship? When Abraham was 100 years old and his wife Sarah was 90 years old God made a promise to them.  They were childless, obviously past the age of childbearing when God came to them and promised them they would have a son.  As impossible as your situation may seem right now I doubt it is an impossible as having children when you a century old!  How do you think Abraham responded?  In Romans 4:19 it says…”And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.”  There is a very important message God is sending us through one word in scripture.  It is the word “consider.” Consider means to think carefully about especially in order to make a decision; to bear it in your mind; to contemplate; to reflect on.   How did this 100 year old guy give birth to an impossibility?  He gave birth to it because he refused to contemplate the deadness of his body or Sarah’s womb.  He only contemplated, reflected on, thought about God’s promise.  He didn’t ask God how. He didn’t start analyzing the situation and get into worry, fear and doubt.  When he refused to CONSIDER the deadness of their bodies (the natural) it kept UNBELIEF out of the equation.   When unbelief is successfully kept out of the equation your mustard seed of faith can go to work and give birth to impossibilities! God wants to birth some impossibilities in YOUR life right now my friend!  In order to do this you must refuse to bear in mind the contradiction.  Do you need healing?  Do you need a financial breakthrough?  Do you need restoration in some broken relationships? If you are serious about birthing an impossibility in your life you must only think about, reflect on and bear in mind God’s promise to you.  You see, Satan is trying to play the same ole trick on us that he played on Adam and Eve in the garden. They were only God conscious.  They only contemplated God.  Then Satan showed up in the garden with the “contradiction.”  The presence of unbelief then short circuited their faith.  Now you can see why God tells us to guard our hearts.  He doesn’t want you to look at certain things and listen to certain things because the contradiction will bring in the presence of unbelief.  Unbelief is not your friend.  Unbelief will choke your faith and prevent your breakthrough.  God didn’t put the scriptures in the Bible for Himself.  He put them there for us!  Without them you go into battle completely nude, defenseless and vulnerable.  Without God’s armor of protection you are no match for Satan. Satan has been trying to keep people out of the Bible since it was written.  Satan knows that God’s word is your power and He wants to keep you distracted and busy so you won’t equip yourself for battle.  He’s no dummy.  He knows very well how to short circuit your faith and keep you defeated.  This modern, technological age we live in is a virtual playground for Satan.   Think about what you’re thinking about.  The battle is in your mind.  Don’t let what an outside report distract you from where you’re going.  If you want real results you must become more diligent about contemplating and reflecting on the promises of God.  The Bible is full of miracles!  Why do you think we don’t experience more of them today?  Because we keep letting the contrary counteract what we ought to be focused on.  We give more attention to the daily news than God’s word.  We give more attention to the stock report than God’s report. We give more attention to our busy lives than we do to God’s word. You must not give your attention to what’s going on around you.  Only believe what the word of God has to say.  I notice people that are full of fear and doubt watch a lot of news.  I never hear the news reporting the promises of God.  They only report what the world says and what the world does. Is it any wonder they are scared?  They are giving their attention to fear as opposed to promise.  I would be scared too if my faith was in Washington, DC!  The world is full of contrary.  There will always be something coming at you to try to get you to NOT believe God.  When attacked you must use your mouth to SAY what you BELIEVE ONLY.  Do not speak words of fear, doubt and unbelief.  If you want to feel joy in the midst of your storm SPEAK scriptures of JOY…”the joy of the Lord is my strength.”  Joy comes from what you know…not by how you feel. Abraham CONSIDERED only the promise, therefore he did not stagger in unbelief.  If you knew absolutely nothing else about the Bible other than the story of Abraham & actually USED this information your life would dramatically change.  You can’t believe God is going to take care of you financially or heal your disease and then “worry” about how He is going to do it.  This is the mistake I made with Olivia’s health a few years ago.  I considered the contrary as opposed to God’s promise.  I allowed unbelief to short circuit my faith. I was not giving God’s promise of healing my FULL ATTENTION.  But you know the interesting thing about this life lesson?  Olivia never gave her disorder any attention at all!  She never worried about it!  It wasn’t on her mind! I’m sure this is why God tells us to come to Him as little children.  Little children approach God with faith and no unbelief.  Once we read the scripture and I told her that God had healed her it was finished.  She believed it.  When I would apply the lotion onto her skin she would say…”mommy, the blessings of the Lord are upon my head.  I’m already healed.” There are 3 forms of Unbelief.  They are Ignorance, Disbelief and Natural Unbelief. Ignorance is unbelief that comes from not knowing.  Once the truth is revealed and you receive the truth your ignorance away.  So many people in the world today are operating their lives in unbelief because of ignorance. They simply don’t know.  This is why God says…”my people perish for lack of knowledge.”  The second form of Unbelief is Disbelief.  Disbelief is all of the stuff we have learned throughout our lives that is wrong, but it becomes truth to us.  Disbelief comes from wrong teaching.  We’ve got to choose the word of God over and above the traditions of man.  Then the unbelief goes away.  The third form is Natural Unbelief, which comes through your senses.  The disciples couldn’t cast the demon out of the boy because of natural unbelief (Mark 9).  They allowed what they saw (his foaming of the mouth) to make them believe their faith didn’t work.  How do you deal with unbelief?  First, don’t beat yourself up for it.  Jesus did not rebuke the man in Mark 9:24 who said “Lord, I believe but help my unbelief.”  Jesus understood that this is the greatest battle we face…the battle in between our ears.  Think about it like this…you can’t be tempted with anything unless you THINK about it.  You must, ON PURPOSE, change what you’re thinking about.  If you spend your time thinking about the promises of God you can only be tempted to BELIEVE and TRUST God.  You change your thoughts by what you read and what you listen to.  It’s almost like deprogramming a computer.  You had many years of negative, wrong programming by a dark world.  You must “on purpose” reprogram with the positive, right things of God!  God’s promises are GOOD. They are full of hope, health & prosperity! If your prayers have been hindered by unbelief you need to CHANGE what you’re thinking about.  NOW is the time to use your God given authority to get rid of your unbelief.  The impossible can absolutely be birthed into your life right now!  Ephesians 3:20 says…”and to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above ALL that we can ask or think according to the power that works in us.”  That’s pretty crystal clear my friend!  God can DO exceedingly & abundantly great things WHEN we TRUST Him!  It’s all about trust!  It’s all about us believing that He has healed us…that He delivered us from our financial bondage 2,000 years ago when he shed his blood for us.  That blood is what redeemed us.  It bought back the dominion that Adam and Eve lost in the garden. That is His promise!  Stand on it!  Refuse to give your attention to the lies of this world.  Give Christ your full attention your miracle will be birthed!
