Good Morning Sisters,
What an anointed word from the Lord. The Holy Spirit is speaking through His daughters!
So many rich truths in what Karen shared last night. My favorite quote of the night was “You can’t change a world that you look just like.” Oh how TRUE THIS IS!!! Our lights had become dim because we were trying to make peace with the world. It’s not a popular time to be a Christian but Jesus didn’t win any popularity contests either. It’s not about whether people like you, but the message that brings hope and healing to their wounded and hurting souls. The Lord is calling us to be the SALT of the world and salt stings. We put salt on those dak areas that need healing.
So what does the world need to see in each of us? What do we need to show the world as followers of Christ? Karen shared 5 things...peace, wisdom, comfort, provision and right words. Her notes are below.
I also loved how she talked about the importance of WOMEN in God’s kingdom. God has a very special place in His heart for His beloved daughters. He wants you to know that YOU ARE IMPORTANT and that YOU MATTER TO HIM. It was a woman that was with Him at the cross, it was a woman that washed His feet. The Bible is filled with stories of women who brought change to their society. He is asking each of US to seek Him in a way that is different than before. He wants us to make HIM our priority. He wants close intimacy with us. He wants us to draw near Him and share our innermost thoughts and desires with Him.
Our next call is this Sunday. We will be praying for our nation. Rita Hanshumaker will be leading us.
Sundays are open to invite your husbands, neighbors, anyone who would like to pray for our country. We are being called to intercede and we must RISE to that call.
I will be sending out an August schedule within the next week or so. We will be taking the first week off in August as I will be out of town. We are moving our daughter into Furman on August 3rd and will be in Greenville that week. Also, we're praying about having a Teen Study in the Fall (through Zoom). Please let me know if you have teens who would like to attend.

Karen’s Notes
2020 means clear vision. Now if you look at all that is happening now you would probably say it’s definitely NOT clear. But that's because youre looking at it how it WAS. The world had things in a certain way and we are expecting it to be that way again, to go back to “normal” if you will, but the world we knew never was normal. You see I believe God is using this unprecedented time in many ways, one of which is to get our attention to seek Him. He’s using it to show us that it shouldn’t be this way at all. Scripture says judgement begins first in the church. He is trying to wake us up. When you seek Him you see that what we thought was normal isn’t even aligned with His word to begin with.
I’m just going to say it, that we need to wake up. WE as believers need to be the ones bringing change to our society. WE need to be the ones to care for people. Did you know before welfare came along the churches took care of people in need? That was true in the days of the apostles as well as it says in Acts 4:34 With great power, the apostles continued to give their testimony about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And abundant grace was upon them all. 34There were no needy ones among them, because those who owned lands or houses would sell their property , bring the proceeds from the sales, 35and lay them at the apostles’ feet for distribution to anyone as he had need.…
Think about the impact and witness believers would have on the world if THIS was how we lived today? There would be no “welfare state” as there would be no need. You see the world can never do better than the model set forth in scripture as God designed the body of Christ to do. But see, we haven’t done it. So while we are waking up now, NOW is the most important time to ask the Lord what your part is in all of this. What is it He wants you to do specifically? You see in Experiencing God, by Henry Blackaby asks the question God is at work all around us so how can we join Him in what He is doing?
That is a question we ALL need to be asking right now. We are not to be silent, we are to be salt. Salt stings, but it also heals. Fear runs rampant in the dark, yet scripture says even the darkness is light to Him and night is as bright as the day. Ps 139:12 we are to shine His light. It is not time to hide it under a bushel. I feel like (and I’m talking to myself here) its high time we shine those lights bright. You see darkness has over taken the land because we are not shining our lights. We’ve allowed them to become dimmed by our being at peace with the world. YOU CANNOT CHANGE A WORLD YOU LOOK JUST LIKE. Praise God! So Father I ask that you give us boldness! Give us great and mighty boldness. To be your witnesses, to preach your word, to give without asking for anything in return, to shine the light of the truth of the gospel. It’s not time to hide in fear, but time to give the world the answer it’s wanted all along..it’s time to give it the salve it needs, it’s high time we brought peace to our brothers. Scripture says you will know them by their fruits. Lord, make me a fruit salad!! God I want to be a party sized platter for all to feast at! Lord, I want it all! Let that be your prayer today ladies, I want it all.
God gives us everything we need for life and godliness 2 Pet 1:3
But where do we begin?
I had this conversation recently with a few people who are trying to figure out what they want to do with their life and what job God wants them to have. My question to you is this..
If you are a scientist, surgeon or special ops forces team member, can God use you?
If you are a politician, pharmacist, paralegal, or physician can God use you? What if you are a homeschooling mom can God use you? YES, God uses us wherever we are in whatever job/capacity/situation/socio-economic status
Ok if you think about it what is it the world needs most right now? Jesus right? So since we can’t go to the store and buy Jesus to give to our fellow man how we gonna show Him to them?
The first thing is PEACE
Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 16:33
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
The second thing would be WISDOM:
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. JAMES 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Isn’t that what the world needs right now?
The third thing would be: COMFORT
Matthew 10:29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Psalm 27:12
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
The fourth thing would be: PROVISION
2 Cor 9:8
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
And again, 2 Pet 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
The fifth thing would be the right words to speak
Proverbs 18:4 “A person’s words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook.”
Proverbs 15:4 “Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit
